Our Mission The purpose of NASSA is to support consenting adults interested in exploring or already involved with Dominant/submissive Master/slave relationships and activities with dignity, non-judgmental acceptance, understanding, and through continuing education. NASSA strives to provide a secure and confidential environment for people to discuss, learn about and practice risk-aware consensual kink (RACK) while keeping at its foundation safe, sane and consensual (SSC) practices for all involved. NASSA seeks to promote, interconnect with local and national BDSM and fetish groups. Through this proactive approach, NASSA actively builds a true all-inclusive BDSM/fetish community in North Alabama.
Who Are We? The North Alabama Spanking and Social Alternatives (NASSA) is a Northern Alabama non-commercial, not-for-profit, unincorporated social, support and education group for adults interested in BDSM, PANSEXUAL and related topics. We currently comprise over 100 people, male and female, couples, and singles, with real time involvement. All, even those who are just beginning in the lifestyle, are welcome to attend.

Posting We hope that you will find NASSA and this on-line yahoo group a means of learning more about the BDSM/fetish lifestyle. By taking an active role in on-line discussions, we hope you will grow in the lifestyle along with us. The on-line list is not a place for personal ads, vendor items or other things of that nature, but it is a place to share information that you may have learned about the lifestyle or to ask lifestyle questions that allow all to learn by the answers and discussion provided. Posting to the on-line list is to be done in a respectful manner. There will be no spamming, flaming or trolling. Do not mention members by name. All opinions are those of the person or persons posting, and they are entitled to them. There is no one right way. Posts should be given this understanding. We should respect each others opinion and the diversity of our group. Let's all enjoy good discussion, learn from each other, and grow in the lifestyle and as friends!
Events Members attending NASSA events must be at least 21 years old. Alcoholic beverages and drugs may not be consumed at the event; alcohol and drugs may not be on any person attending the event. Photography by still or video is not allowed at any event without the express permission of the attendees. There may be occasions when presenters wish to have their scene photographed, but no NASSA members will be included without their permission. Cell phones may be brought into the event, however the phone must be placed on vibrate or turned off during the educational demonstration; pictures may not be taken with cell phones. All dress must remain as acceptable street attire when outside of the event location. Attendees wishing to dress in fetish attire may change from their street clothing at the event. By attending the event, each participant agrees to not discuss the event or its members; keeping activities confidential. It is inappropriate to discuss the event with those not at the event or non-members. Discretion is critical. NASSA subscribes to safe, sane and consensual (SSC) in addition to risk-aware consensual kink (RACK); attendees at NASSA events must also subscribe to this behavior while in attendance at the event. At events there may be a play party after the educational demonstration. Attendees may watch the event, but may not interrupt a scene; if you must talk, go to another room where you may carry on a conversation. If there appears to be a problem then quietly talk to the Dungeon Host. He/She will take the appropriate action. While there may be unattached submissives at the event, it is inappropriate for a Dominant to demand servitude unless a prior agreement has been reached.
The Beginning Our first meeting consisted of the core group establishing the goals and the direction that the group would take to meet those goals. Being a member of The Red Chair in Birmingham, AL, MasterSGT88 noticed a lot of people were coming to the meetings there from the North Alabama area. So the group was born in July 1999.
